The life a project will have, this is, if it is going to be evolved over many years, if it's going to be closed and never modified again, etc.

To my understanding, a person can perform that role as long as they have at least the following conditions:

Has a high experience for a determined "domain". This is no one can be considered a "software architect" for any kind of project. Good developing involves knowing the kind of business for which we develop a solution.

Has gone through many roles throughout his career (tester, developer, analyst, etc.). This means many years of experience with different profiles. Nobody ends their academic formation and quickly become a "software architect"
